公司于2010年实施高效LED照明用蓝宝石基板材料项目。项目总投资超过3.6亿元，主要生产2，4，6 英寸蓝宝石单晶片，主要用作高亮度LED半导体发光照明器件及高速、高频的无线电通讯器件的半导体基底材料。项目所需的相关设备和4英寸蓝宝石单晶体的育成技术，由日本机电提供，并达成在中国境内(包括香港、澳门和台湾)只向本公司转让该项技术的许可。同时，和株式会社MAT、上海日进机床有限公司达成战略联盟合作协议，向公司提供4英寸蓝宝石基板制造技术和相关设备。
